BRUJOS NEWS - 2010 Spring Season Dates!

The time has come to get back to the real work of advancing to Westerns. This is going to be an exciting season and we need to start building our game plan as soon as possible. That said, below is the schedule for the first couple weeks of the season:
First team practice: January 23 - 2pm at the Yale practice field (MAP). This is a Saturday and is mandatory. The practice field is located just south of Katherine street on the east side of Yale Blvd. Be there at 2pm sharp ready to train.
Team meeting: January 23 - 4:30pm. The location will be announced when it has been approved. This meeting will be shortly after practice on Saturday and is mandatory.
Team try-out: February 6. Time and place will be announced at the team meeting on Jan 23. This tryout will determine a rough starting side and what position each player is best fit for.
First match: February 6 - NM Tech Pygmies. This scrimmage will be held at St. Pius, our home pitch, just after our team try-outs and will be our first opportunity to show our might.
Team practices will be held at the Yale field at the usual times, 6-8 pm, Tuesday and Thursday. Be on time and ready to train hard. This is a crucial time in Brujo rugby and we have a good chance of getting to Westerns if we work hard and stay focused and disciplined all season. We have two weeks before the first practice so get out and do some running, hit the gym hard and get fit before Saturday Jan. 23. I can't wait to see you all out there and play some great rugby this season.
For all new recruits, please show up to the first practice on Jan 23rd no matter what your skill/experience level is with rugby. There is room for everyone on the team and we welcome your interest. You should wear cleated boots for practice (any style will do; football, soccer, rugby). Please reply to me if you have any questions.
